Stunts

Today I was out practicing the 'stunts' one must do for the bike exam with Jerome. It was the first time I was able to do all of them without any problems so we made some videos with my digicam to commemorate this.
Let's start with a stoppie. Ok, its not one of the stunts to be mastered for the exam but who cares? I actually did a much higher one that we neglected to capture, and later I wasn't able to muster the cojones to do it again. I however did figure out the proper way to sit so said cojones are not crushed -- my first attempts were quite painful. Unfortunately on this one the camera man seems to have had trouble pointing the thing at the subject.

Next up is a wide slalom. There are cones placed 5 meters apart, but angled 45 degrees in a snake pattern. Its quite challenging to do with my bike because my steering geometry only allows very wide arcs compared to all my friends' bikes. In other words, they couldn't do this with my bike so far.

Finally, a tight slalom. Here the cones are placed tighter than required for the large motorcycle exam, this is actually a moped course. But we had no problem with it anyway.

Here is Jerome doing the tight slalom:

The other thing I am trying to practice is legal driving. Last week I was flashed by a traffic camera going way too fast for the second time. This time from behind. :-( I didn't get a fine or other trouble yet, word has it that these things can take many weeks to process. Either way, I decided to take speed limits more seriousy from now on because it would be embarrasing to lose my license before even passing the exam.
I'm also proud to announce that I got my very first parking ticket. How on earth can motorcycles commit parking violations!??? What's wrong with the world??
